Are you planning essential travel to North Vancouver during the COVID-19 Pandemic and are you wondering how you can stay safe and healthy throughout your trip? British Columbia is the province of outdoors and there are still activities you can take part in while practicing social distancing. Here are some of our local tips on how to keep yourself occupied through your trip but also on how to keep yourself protected and healthy.
If you must be travelling throughout the pandemic please ensure that you are aware of the restrictions in that area and that you are keeping track of the number of cases using this helpful map. If you are travelling to or from areas of high-risk please monitor the conditions and legal obligations of that area and ensure that you are self-isolating upon your arrival or return.
How to maintain social distancing and self hygiene
The government of Canada has shared their recommendations on how to keep safe and practice good hygiene. What is important for you to remember is to maintain social distancing, this means keeping at least 2 meters away from others and avoiding non-essential gatherings. When practicing good hygiene ensure that you are washing your hands often and at least for twenty seconds as well as not touching your face.
Enjoying the outdoors
There are still plenty of outdoor activities you can take part in while social distancing. With plenty of forested areas and outdoor space there are still options to breathe in that fresh Vancouver air while keeping safe. A few of our favourite trails in North Vancouver include the Mosquito Creek Park and Deep Cove Park. Please make sure that they are open in advance as restrictions may pop up based on the status of COVID-19.
If you are looking for safe and comfortable accommodations during your time in North Vancouver we would recommend the Best Western Capilano, it is centrally located and is nestled close to plenty of outdoor areas.
